HKBC Launches Mai Po - BBA Imperial Stout

HKBC Launches Mai Po - BBA Imperial Stout
The wait is finally over! Our unique and extremely rare Mai Po BBA Imperial Stout is now ready for its debut after patiently ageing in our Chai Wan cold room for one year in premium George Dickel 12-year barrels (a process that allows beautiful tannins of oak and bourbon to seep into our Imperial Stout). Blended with our latest batch of Sevens Stout to achieve an intentionally lower and therefore more accessible ABV of 8.5%, this richly complex craft beer with lingering roastiness and warming characters has been perfectly timed for release during Hong Kong’s winter months. Mai Po is best savoured in a snifter glass or paired with decadent desserts such as molten lava cake, sweet date and brown sugar puddings, or an ounce of fine dark chocolate. When stored at a constant temperature of 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, Mai Po may be enjoyed for up to five years and collected for vertical tastings.

About Mai Po

Mai Po Marshes and Inner Deep Bay is a 1,540-hectare wetland of international significance that is situated in Hong Kong’s northwest New Territories. Mai Po became a designated Ramsar site in 1995 because it is important for the conservation of global biological diversity and for sustaining human life through the ecological and hydrological functions its wetlands perform. The Eastern Imperial Eagle, beautifully illustrated on our 2021 vintage label by @carmenor.art, winters regularly at Mai Po and, with less than 10,000 mature individuals worldwide and a decreasing population, is listed as Vulnerable on the Red List of threatened species drawn up by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
